All our structural timbers are treated using Tanatone®. Tanatone® treated timber has been impregnated with Tanalith® E preservative containing a built-in brown colouration. Tanatone® eliminates the need for brush applied colour at the point of installation.
Aggredeck® softwood products used on our access solutions are treated using Tanalith®. Tanalith® E treated timber has been impregnated with Tanalith® E preservative, a waterbourne product based on copper traizole technology. Tanalith® E is used where there is a medium to high risk of decay or insect attack.
The treatment process...
| |
Timber is loaded into treatment vessel. Initial vacuum is applied - timber cells evacuated of air. Vacuum held.
Cylinder is flooded under vacuum with Tanalith® E wood presevative, with Tanalith® Extra or Tanatone® additives, if required.
Hydraulic pressure is applied, forcing the preservative deep into the structure of the timber.
Final vacuum extracts excess preservative solution, which is pumped back to storage.
Low pressure inside the timber draws in surface solution when vented to atmosphere. Treated timber is left to dry. |

The Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) 1995 aims to end discrimination that many disabled people face. This Act has been significantly extended, including the Disability Discrimination Act 2005. It now gives people rights in the areas of:
Employment.
Education.
Access to goods, facilities and services.
Buying or renting property and for tenants to make disability-related adaptations.
| |
The Act now requires public bodies to promote equality of opportunity for disabled people. It also allows the government to set minimum standards so that disabled people can use public transport easily.
The Departmenr for Work and Pensions (DWP) website offers further information, including details on the changes made by the Disability Discrimination Act 2005. |
